1. The ΧΧΧΧΧΧ unique author identifier is gaining a lot of traction. In my opinion this is greatly to be valued, and should help to simplify maintaining your list of publications. (It is to be hoped that integration with MathSciNet may happen at some point in the future.) The benefits are most obvious for those with non-unique names within their field, or those who have changed their name, but not limited to these. (εδώ)
