dick theory, like K.A.M. theory, is actually more of a collection of techniques and tools for proving the presence of a certain phenomenon in a large variety of specific cases, than a theory stricto sensu. the goal of K.A.M. theory is to construct invariant tori in, say, Hamiltonian systems. the goal of dick theory is to show that someone or something is dick, and conclude the proof by saying "ergo, dick".
