the godfather paradox

The godfather paradox is a proposed paradox of time travel which results in an inconsistency through blackmailing the past. The paradox is described as follows: Don Corleone goes back in time and makes Don Corleone an offer he can't refuse, eliminating the possibility of Don Corleone ever coming into existence. As a result, Don Corleone is never born. But if Don Corleone is never born, then he does not travel through time and make Don Corleone an offer he can't refuse, which means Don Corleone is born after all, and he makes Don Corleone an offer he can't refuse, and so on.
